We’ve recently added the ability to allow photo sharing among Geneartogy users. This is especially helpful among family members who may share one or more common lines of ancestors. Once one family member has uploaded photos into a project, they can then be used by other family members in their own projects.
Here’s how it works:
1- Log in to your account and select My Projects
2- Click on SHARE IMAGES button (near top of screen)
3- If You’ve been given rights to share images from another user, you’ll see them listed first. To download the images, click the VIEW IMAGES button and then download the images you want. The images will download to a folder you specify on your computer. You can then use these images as you want. You can edit them in photo editing software and you can upload them into your own project on Geneartogy.
4- To give another user rights to share your images, click on the SEARCH USER button. From there you can search for the user by User ID, First Name or Last Name. Once you’ve found the right person, you’ll next choose which project of yours to give them image sharing rights to. Image sharing rights are for specific projects only- not to your entire account. Once you’ve selected the project you want to give that user image sharing rights to, then click the SHARE PROJECT PHOTOS button. The selected user now has rights to view and download the images from the specific project you gave them rights to. To access them, they will just need to login to their account and go through steps 1-3 above.
